MED-TECH & ART

This week I am discussing how medicine technology and art all connect with each other. Med-Tech is

is just a shorter hand of medical technology. Medical technology is used in hospitals mainly. For example X –rays, are used to look through the skin, ligaments, and muscles. Reason why I considered this medical technology is because I only see X ray machines in the hospital. Medical technology is used for treatment for the body.

As you look at the image above it is a example of Art and Med-Tech.

"' BODY WORLDS explores the remarkable human body with displays of real human bodies, all donated to science by body donors wishing to educate the community. " I find that this is amazing that they things they use are real human bodies and real organs. But that has me to wonder how they keep organs so fresh and clean.

Another example of med-tech is science. The way they used medical technology is buy using a microscope. Microscopes are mainly used to look at small items that you can’t see. A way they use microscopes is in laboratories when they are checking new sickness or viruses.

The film X men is a example of med-tech and art. reason for it is because of the mutations that were helped to change a person.\
I found this article interesting to read because i have been through surgery twice and i know how it feels and been through the procedures. I do like how the article just informs us on everything.

ROBOTS & ART

This week we will discuss how we classify robots with art. In the video above demonstrates how much attention Dirk the homeless robot actually attracted a large crowd. Using both art and robots draws a crowd around the homeless robot is a example of Art Performance.

Dennis Hong discusses that he created a robot to immulate how humans walk. he discussed that humans does not necessarly plant their foot into the ground but some what swings our legs as we walk. He created a robot that has 3 legs and and walks by swinging a leg through the other two legs.

With the society being so vulnerable, the use of electronics are ridiculous. This image demonstrates a boy shaking the hand of a robot as if they became friends. Parents would buy robotic toys to help teach them the fundamentals of school such as Leapfrog.

Growing up as a kid these were the only robots I've had a idea of. R2-D2 & C3PO would symbolize a healthy relationship and demonstrates how to treat one another. These are examples of robots in films and how they influence the youth since being a part of a well known film.

MATH & ART

Last week we discussed the differences between Science and Art. There weren’t many differences between the two but this week we learn the difference between Art and Math. These two have nothing in common at all both different subjects and influence our culture different.
http://www.mathactivities.net/
As a young elementary student math was my strong class. It was simple they gave us a formula and had us put in a couple of numbers and then there you have it you solved a math problem. They even tried to trick you up using word problems and cause you to think more and more but at the end of the day if the number is not correct then you are wrong. I looked at math as a guidance in life really it was either the right way or the wrong way. It's how my teacher Mr. Williams taught it to me.

Pi
This video discusses that Pi is the mathematical language that you need to know.  It also states that everything can be understood through numbers and it causes patterns.

Stand and Deliver

I remember watching this film in high school; I do find this way of learning how to do the finger math. But what I like about this video it gives you a different way of learning your times tables.

This is an example of how art and math combine together. The Two make math funnier to learn and comprehend for children in elementary.

The main reason why math is my favorite subject because it teaches you how to manage your money. Without learning math I would not be at UCLA taking these classes.

ARTS & SCIENCE

 ARTS & SCIENCE
The difference between art and science is one has to do with your physical connections and other is being mentally focused. Art is used for your physical connections how you express yourself, what you are feeling and how you see yourself versus others. Science is all mental, a lot of thinking when it comes down to science. Art and Science are not that different from each other, in art there isn’t a thing as a wrong painting but a picture could say a thousand words that can be misled. In science chemicals can be missed used and mixed wrong and can cause an accident.

When looking up art online this picture caught my attention because it displays the difference between the two. Art is used mainly with color that paints stories and pictures. The tools that are mainly used in art classes are paint brushes and canvas.

This picture shows how the two differ from each other as you can see both contains a variety of different colors but the makes them different is science is liquid chemicals that are mixed together to create chemicals.

This article discusses how science affects the culture that we live in. It discusses that science is used in the medical fields. They also use science as a valid evidence for theories and beliefs. The article also discusses how the culture affects science too.

In this article it discusses the role in our society. It states that art is a symbol of our expressions and impressions. It discusses how impressionist used art and how they felt about different arts. This article goes more into depth on what an impressionist is and what they paint and why they paint. For example Impressionist would paint Landscapes, and outside paintings to display freedom and differences.

This article discusses how we should redefine arts and sciences in the future. Mae Jemison, an astronaut, teacher, doctor, and paint collector discusses her views on arts and science and why we should reconnect the two.  She goes into depth about her background and her love for art and science.  She discusses how Arts and science are having problems being taught in schools.
